And when all is said and done . . . . Well, whoever believes whimsy isn't responsible for achieving balance in an otherwise sometimes odious world is not anyone I'd ever believe knows much of anything worthy of note. That's what I think -- and so it may be that diversity and whimsy become our salvation.
